Every year around this time (late December early January) I get a little sad. It is the bitter sweet time before Cassie's bday. I thank God for all that she has become while reminiscing on every milestone and cool happenings over the course of a year. Each year she becomes less of my baby and more of my BIG GIRL. I will miss age 2! I referred to her as my "terrific two" all year long as a self-fulfilling prophecy to her instead of what most call the "terrible twos."
A few things I didn't know would happen during age 2
-Cassie would say "NO" "I dont wanna" "I can do it all by myself" "No THANK YOU" "I don't like it" "Can I have a donut" "Pleeeeeeeeeease" "I'm sorry momma" more times than I care to count.
-I didn't know she'd be the most atheletic in her gym class as the instructor deemed her
-I didn't know she'd show interest in tying her own shoes...already...sheesh
-I didn't know she would loooooooove babies, both live and dolls
-I didn't know she'd be able to reach all of the light switches and door knobs
-I didn't know she'd be able to say grace before meals
-She tells me she loves me and gives hugs and kisses whenver she feels like being loving...I don't have to say it first or initiate the affection (although I often do)
-She has "favorites"...colors, snacks, shoes, you name it
-She has friends. Her very best friend is her abuelita. I'll never forget the day she said "Abuelita...shes my friend"
-she can fold face towels and get her self completely dressed
-She can play any instrument and match any note. My girl is beyond musically inclined. She even played twinkle twinkle little star on a rice cake this year.
-She chewed gum (insert sad face)...it happened so quickly. My stepmom gave her a piece during a church service... what could I do???
-She has an imaginary dog named...drumroll please...Cassandra...Just like her and grandma haha. She likes to offer him chicken noodle soup and water.
I look forward to see the many great things age 3 will bring. Happy early bday Cassie!
